At WWE Money in the Bank, The New Day will go head-to-head with The Prime Time Players for the WWE Tag Team Championship live on WWE Network June 14.
The showdown will take place in the wake of the first Elimination Chamber Match for the coveted championship. Of the five explosive teams who challenged the reigning titleholders, Titus O'Neil & Darren Young were the last tandem eliminated. This is quite a feat considering that the entire New Day trio – Kofi Kingston, Big E & Xavier Woods – were granted permission to compete in the contest and use the numbers game to their advantage.
Eager to finish the job, the “millions of dollars” duo triumphed in a Triple Threat Match on SmackDown, overcoming the high-flying Lucha Dragons and the dangerous Ascension to become No. 1 contenders.
While the tandem of O’Neil & Young looks impressive, no one should underestimate the power of positivity. Like them or hate them – and quite honestly, most people hate them – the combination of Kingston, Big E & Woods have proven to be quite cunning since seizing the WWE Tag Team Titles.
